Sad News - The Cactus Classic is over

Hey all,
I just got an email from Rusty Klaus (I know some of you did as well), that the Cactus Classic in Victorville, will not be returning for year 21. This is really sad news.
There were several reasons for the decision to cancel the show, and I won't go into the examples sited here.
This has been one of my favorite shows to attend each year and it will be missed.

Not many shows enjoy a run of 20 years.

To all those involved with putting this show on every year, Thank You!, It was a blast!

This is truly sad news indeed,

Unfortunately not surprising news while this show was one of my favorites for years, it has been declining for the last few years. As 56150 stated, the reason(s) don't seem important after the fact. What is important is that the Victorville modelers are appreciated for all their efforts over the years THANK YOU ALL & sad to see this contest go..!

Very sorry to hear that. I had hoped to make it over to Victorville for the CC, but seems it was scheduled the same weekend ... every year ... that I was kinda busy in Scottsdale with my own show.

Always sad to hear of an event fading away ... especially one with as long a tenure and rich a history as the Cactus Classic.

The Cactus Classic was always the weekend before Thanksgiving, one of the reasons I have never made it over there for your Good Guys Show. Maybe this year I'll be able to get over there, but as you now know, there is a new Good Guys show in Del Mar now ON Thanksgiving Weekend so who knows, but I'm going to try.
