I know we have some Drag Racing fans on here, so I thought you might be interested to know that Richie Crampton is my sister's long-time boyfriend. He better marry her now. I want race tickets! ;D The whole family is really excited with this news. nhra.com/story/2013/10/14/lucas-to-yield-seat/-Art

Now that's how ya do it,
I think that's great Art, I believe a crew member should get a shot at fame & fortune at times..! Wish he'd dump Brenstein for a veteran like Larry Dixon or Cory mac.Hizoot

Hizoot,
I agree, it's a great thing the the Lucas did for him. Not too many times is a crew member elevated to driver by a team and sponsors the whole licensing process, but that's what they did. Like you, the two names that came to mind that could have been installed in that seat were Dixon and Cory Mac, so to get a shot when there are so many proven rideless drivers out there is amazing.
But Rich is a really talented kid and I'm glad to see him get a shot. He actually built the chassis that Lucas won with first time out just a few weeks back.

Yes it's a great opportunity,
I believe he'd put his friend JR Todd in the seat before Dixon or Mac... However the sad side is that I believe Morgan has brought this on himself. He got treed a couple times lately & he's been very hard on himself as I'm sure he has high standards. The problem is maybe too high, I heard him in his TV interview & he was on the floor...
I know you don't want to let down your team but reaction times aren't the whole story. Morgan could become good at back peddling that car & that's harder than RT's but it takes time to develop that skill.
I'm glad to see your friend have a chance but I'm sad because I believe Morgan is out of the car indefinitely by his own tough choice & not because of business demands. Please keep us posted..!Hizoot

Hizoot, If you listen to this interview, it seems that Morgan and GEICO both chose "Richie" over Bernstein, as Bernstein does not yet have a deal for next year. www.wforadio.com/archive/2013/20131015-wforadio-nitro.mp3And I agree, he would put JR Todd in ahead of Dixon and Cory Mac. I also think your take on Morgan might have some merit, but we'll probably never know, as that's not the company line.

That is very interesting,
I didn't know that the sponsor had that much influence on the team itself or the driver but I guess it's his face on the posters & or TV ads...! I myself, was referring to his ESPN 2 interview(s)...
Sooner or later Morgan will need to run the business but it shows I was correct about his standards as they're still extremely high even for the business. I still believe my theory has some merit as he seems to be an all or nothing guy, I'd like to see him "have fun" in nostalgia racing but that's for another time....
As for Bernstein, just too many other guys & gals more hungry than him & his stats aren't that good. He's a minnow in a shark pool right now...! Hizoot
