I use sodium hydroxide aka Lye, or you can use simple green, bleech, easy off, castrol super clean. Lye removes most paints too.

hey modeltecho, quickest way I have found is put parts in a zip-lock bag and spray with Easy-off original yellow can, newer stuff comes off in minutes, older stuff takes a little while longer

Djway, If I want to strip paint from a body can I use draino? If so what is the mix ratio? Thanks Bob.

the active ingredient in draino from what I understand is LYE like I use. I assume it is stored in a plastic bottle which tells you that it is safe on plastics. put some in a plastic container large enough for the parts and just use it straight. Rinse the parts thouroughly before handleing. Keep away from skin. run it through a strainer and pour back into the bottle. dwayne

I just read in the new Scale Auto where Dave Thibodeau used brake fluid to dechrome some wheels on his Camero racer Jim Old ModelMaker..... I used regular full strength Bleech for about 5 min. and rinse off with soap and water... You may need to used a tooth brush to get those hard to reach areas. But dont throw the bleech into the sink... Flush down toilet to get rid of smell... Fuelish
