I would like to thank Fuelish, Hizoot, and Bob for helping out this last weekend. Without the volunteers the show would be very difficult to do. I hope you had as much fun as I did.
Thank You All.

Hey guys,
I signed on to this forum a while back and get led back looking for info on the GNRS. I'm relatively new to model building as a serious hobby and have been attending as many shows in So Cal as I can get to in the last year or so to learn as much as possible to make a better model. The quality of the builds at these shows is unbelievable, and I know all of you build killer stuff too.
I just wanted to say thanks to all of you that have put on these shows. I can tell it's a labor of love for you all and I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to participate as well. It's been a real bonding experience for me and my son and we hope to be able to get to many more. See you at the Citrus Nationals, and thanks again for all of your hard work.
Take care,
-Art Laski

Art,Thanks for the kind words. You are correct when you said it is a labor of love for this hobby. For me, it is also a means to try to draw some of the old builders (and some who have never built) and their kids, or even grandkids, to the hobby, much like you and your son have been doing. It is great to see the kids at these events. Both you, and your son, are good builders and I hope you both keep on building. On another note, I have not forgotten your award for Rt-66. Still trying to get it ironed out. Thanks for your patience
See you in March.

Hey Now... I feel the photo's I took were sub-par because of the use of the flash unit on camera. (I plan to go back to the Non-Flash Method). Also it was very hard to shoot the cars when they they all stack up like cardboard... But with a turn-out of 200+ models what can you do...
Art and Son... Are Great Builders and hopefully your son can turn some of his friends into building model cars and come out to the Citrus Nats... Remember all Juniors are FREE to enter (When Accompanied by an ADULT...) and will received a free model car from a vendor upon entering into competition.
Zootman... The photos have been posted at the "Bucket" under Model Car Shows folder...

Hey Fuelish,
I'm sure you felt the "flash" was a distraction to your photography & you're not real happy but I think they still came out good considering what you had to work with. I also know we appreciate you shooting the show, myself included. I'll make a slideshow soon from them...
Art,
Take it from me, you & your son are what the hobby is all about..! These guys love to see new happy faces & we never see enough junior builders..! Glad you're having fun-Hizoot

Would have been even better if there would have been some shaving cream and a feather handy. ;D ;D ;D ;D
Fuelish, your being too hard on yourself. With the amount of entries and the limited of space around the models that was available, you did a fantastic job! Really going to push for more room for next year. this event just keeps getting larger every year.

That scene looks like: (1) Me, trying to get the attention of one of my judges. (2) A competitor explaining the finer points of his work to one of my judges. Either way, the guy on the right looks like ... ;D (Just kidding, of course!) It's a shame Rusty is always so shy and quiet ...

I think that's when the guy put his Baja bug in the drag category.
